Meet The Staff And Ministry Leaders Serving Our Church

Bill Foss

Lead Pastor

Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV)

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

I serve as the Lead Pastor for Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene. My wife Danielle and I, along with our three children, Josiah, Jillian, and Israel joined SCN in June 2018. My primary responsibilities include preaching, vision casting, discipleship training, and developing new leaders.

I graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in May 2002 with a Bachelors of Art degree in Youth Ministries. I was ordained an Elder of the Church of the Nazarene in 2006. I have also served as a Youth Pastor in Massachusetts, Iowa, and Pennsylvania. I have spent 15+ years serving the Lord and His church as a Lead Pastor.

One of my favorite characteristics about Jesus is his Servant Leadership: exercising Godly leadership as Christ did, by his taking a towel, influencing, equipping, and empowering people to accomplish God’s purpose and plan. ( Luke 22:26 )

Some of my hobbies and interests include my family, BOSTON RED SOX baseball, and I love to vacation at the ocean and at Disney World.

Jacob Story

Associate Pastor

John 15:4-5, 8-9 (NIV)

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing…

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”

I am so glad the Lord has led you here! My name is Jacob Story and I am incredibly fortunate to be a pastor here at Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene! I get the privilege of working in many areas here, but my primary area is Celebrate Recovery. Celebrate Recovery is a community of people working toward and celebrating freedom from lifes hurts, hang ups, and habits.

My wife, Kathryn, our three kids, and I moved here in May 2021 from Oklahoma and have fallen in love with our church family and the mission God has given us in this area. I have a bachelors degree in Biblical Studies from Nazarene Bible College and am an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. My hobbies include hunting, acoustic guitar, collecting tools, and sometimes using them!

My favorite aspect of the person of Jesus is His commitment to be present with us. As the verse I have chosen shows, grace is not about us impressing Him so that we can show ourselves to be worthy. Our relationship with Him is not based upon our ability to “perform” Christianity. Being in a relationship with Jesus is about learning how to let go of our own superiority and let Him transform us, relying on Him every day and in every way as He accomplishs the mission of the Gospel in us; loving God and loving others.

I sincerely hope that you can find a family here with us!

Joshua Kelley

Pastor of Worship and Creative Arts

Colossians 3:16-17(NIV)

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

I have the awesome privilege of serving as the Worship & Creative Arts Pastor at Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene. My wife, Katie, and I moved here in December 2024, and we’ve absolutely loved getting to know everyone in our church family and the community. One of our favorite parts of the week is hosting the young adult ministry at our home on Sunday nights. It’s a joy to create a space where we can grow in our faith, build friendships, and cheer each other on in our walks with Christ. Plus, our dogs love having everyone over!

I’ve been serving as a pastor in ministry since I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Ministries. I’m passionate about helping people connect. with God through acts of worship, fostering a culture of creativity, and empowering volunteers to serve with excellence and joy. One of the things I love most about Jesus is His invitation to abide in Him—how worship isn’t just about singing songs on a Sunday but a life lived in His presence. Jesus is worthy of our love, our affections, worthy of submission, our devotion, and worthy of our hearts, our everything.

When I’m not doing ministry, you can find me riding my Onewheel, playing board games, or cheering on the Bengals (Who Dey!). I’ve also wanted to dive into woodworking, but I’m mostly focused on home renovation projects for now!

If you’re looking for a place to grow in your faith and be part of something meaningful, I’d love to connect with you. If you need some rest and space for healing, this is a place for you. SCN is a place where you can belong, no matter your circumstances, serve, no matter your skill set, and encounter Jesus in a real way!

Adam Mowery

Youth Pastor

John 14: 6-7 (NIV)

Jesus answered,” I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Hi, my name is Adam Mowery and I’m so excited to welcome you to SCN. I’m married to the girl I started dating and fell in love with when I was 14 years old, Amber and we also have an energetic son named Ezra and a beautiful daughter Emerson. I grew up here in the area and graduated from Selinsgrove Area High School and have an Associate Degree in Automotive repair from Penn College of Technology. I am also going through the course of study with Nazarene Bible College to be an ordained elder. I have been going to SCN since I was around 5 and I absolutely love it here. My hobby is hunting, something I’ve been known to talk people’s ears off discussing.

My role at SCN is Pastor of Youth and Evangelism which encompasses grades 6th-12th, along with leading the charge on Evangelism at a whole church level. I am not a “sit behind a desk” kind of guy, so I really enjoy being out and about, meeting our youth where they are at. Whether it be logistical stuff such as planning events, watching one of my kids participate in something they love or sharing a message the Lord has laid on my heart at our Sunday night youth group (Forge), I feel that this is what youth ministry is all about. I also believe everyone should be saved and living as disciples of Jesus Christ, which is why I love evangelism. My role isn’t a job, it is a calling from Monday- Sunday which I believe is so critical in a world where teenagers constantly have something going on to draw them away. Ultimately Jesus is the one in the driver seat in this ministry, He is the one who is in charge. I am simply just someone He has called to share the gospel with teenagers.

If I had to choose one thing that I love about the ministry, it would have to be how much closer it has brought me to Jesus. He is the one true life and although I could never repay him for dying on the cross for me personally, I am committed to living a life of following him and letting him guide me as he sees fit. John 14:6-7 states, “Jesus answered,” I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”” Jesus is the only way, and I want everyone to know that, as fully committed disciples of Jesus Christ.

Kaitlin Scholl

Children's Pastor & Preschool Director

Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Psalm 90:1-2

My name is Kaitlin Scholl. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Logan, and we have three wonderful boys: Emmett, Henry, and Simon. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (Pre-K to 4th Grade) from Bloomsburg University and worked in the education field for several years before the Lord called me to oversee our children’s ministry at SCN in 2017. Having recently completed my course of study through Nazarene Bible College, I eagerly anticipate my ordination in April of 2025.

I have always had a passion for working with children and love being able to share God’s love with them at SCN. Being part of the spiritual growth and development of children is an amazing experience. Our children are an important part of SCN, and we strive to follow the Lord’s guidance as we teach biblical truths and accompany our children on their journey with Christ.

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, spending time with my husband and boys, and cooking.

Our Church Staff

Terry Heintzelman

Spiritual Formation Director

Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Hi! My name is Terry Heintzelman and I am currently serving part-time as the Director of Discipleship for Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene. Two of my favorite verses are Romans 12: 1-2 where we are called to be “living sacrifices” and to not be conformed to the world, but to be transformed. That is a continual challenge for me as I negotiate this event we know as life.

I am married to my best friend, Cathy, and have been for over 40 years. I have two boys who are out on their own. I retired from public education in 2016. In 2017-19 I served as a part-time Director of Youth Ministries here at the church and took over this new challenge in the area of discipleship near the end of 2019. I also used to coach football at the high school level and still enjoy the game.

I am currently involved in the community by serving on the Snyder County Children and Youth Advisory Board, the Selinsgrove High School Alumni Association, and the Gideons International.

Carol Hoffman

Business Manager

Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

My name is Carol Hoffman. I joined the staff of SCN as office secretary on May 2, 1994. In 2017 I transitioned into the newly created Business Manager role.

My husband, Trent, attended SCN when we met. We were married here and have been part of the SCN family, along with our daughter Tiffany, son-in-law Brad, and grandchildren Bryce, Claire and Violet, ever since.

I am very blessed to be able to work with an amazing staff here at SCN, as well as have the opportunity to serve the Lord through my job. What a blessing it is to meet for staff meeting each week where we spend time praying together for the needs of our church family.

If you stop by my office you will find my favorite scripture on the wall: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. This is a constant reminder to me to always trust in the Lord and to stay strong in any situation. God will always answer our needs and guide us through any situation, maybe not in the way we would like, but in His time and in His way. We just need to be still and allow for His leading.

My interests include cooking, woodcraft, crocheting, scrapbooking, making greeting cards, attending my grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with family.

Nate Hartman

Pastoral Assistant

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant” – Philippians 2:5-7

My name is Nate Hartman, and I joined the SCN Staff team in February of 2025. My role is Pastoral Assistant, in which I deal closely with the executive pastors to help maintain the ministry operations in the church! I am so excited that God has brought you here! I graduated from Midd-West High School in 2022 and started attending Susquehanna University shortly after. I recently completed a summer internship here at SCN, and I am now currently attending Nazarene Bible College, pursuing ordination and a degree in Pastoral Ministry.

I consider myself to be very privileged to work alongside such an amazing staff team. Working directly in ministry is extremely fulfilling, as I often witness the direct fruit from serving the Lord throughout the week. I get to work closely with our Young Adult ministry, which has provided fantastic connections with local attendees as well as college students.

The humility of Christ has always captivated me, as described in one of my life verses, Philippians 2:5-7. I praise God for sending His only Son, in our very own human likeness, who paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. As I reflect on Christ taking on the nature of a servant, I strive to do the same as I serve Him every day.

My interests include weightlifting and exercise, photography, spending time outside, and being with friends and family. I also enjoy playing guitar and serving on our worship team on Sunday morning.

I encourage you to find ways to connect and serve here at SCN. We would love to get to know you more!

Reva Herrold

Office Assistant

Isaiah 40:31

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”

Hello, I’m Reva Herrold and I’m serving part-time as the Office Manager here at SCN. Since marrying my wonderful husband Mike in 1989, I have been a member of the Nazarene Church. I have two lovely daughters, Evonne Workman and Brianna Reich who live here in the Susquehanna Valley.

God has blessed me with multiple spiritual gifts that equipped me to serve as a music teacher here in the Selinsgrove Area School District for my entire career. My gift of teaching was also utilized serving in children’s, teen and adult ministries in the church and as a sewing and cooking leader in the county 4-H program. I also spent 20 years in my private studio teaching children piano lessons. Being obedient to the Lord’s calling, using my spiritual gifts, and relying on God’s renewed strength was and still is prominent in my life.

The greatest blessings in my life are my family, friends and serving God! My favorite past time is spending time with people and building relationships.
